St. Patrick's Primary School, Pennyburn, Derry City

Welcome

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the St Patrick’s Primary School website. We are a large co-educational school situated in the Pennyburn area of Derry within the parish of the Three Patrons. St Patrick’s is a Catholic school and the staff are committed to the promotion of an ethos throughout the school which reflects Christian values and the development of a caring community which effectively develops the academic, personal, social and spiritual potential of each child.

In St Patrick’s we continuously strive to deliver the highest standard of education possible to all children of all abilities within a happy, caring, stimulating and secure environment where self- esteem and respect for one another are promoted through the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.

In our most recent inspection report in February 2016, we were graded as follows:

  • Achievements and Standards – Outstanding
  • Provision for Learning – Very Good
  • Leadership and Management – Outstanding

During this inspection ETI evaluated the school as having a high level of capacity for sustained improvement in the interest of all learners.

ETI inspectors also noted:

“In all year groups the children are friendly and open; they listen attentively and talk articulately to one another and to adults. They are respectful towards one another and respond well to the positive atmosphere for learning and the good relationships between their peers and teachers.”

We hope you enjoy browsing through our new website which will give you a flavour of the experiences our children, staff and parents enjoy in the day to day life of our school.

Mr Ian Gallagher
