Mrs Kerr's class joined our neighbouring school Greenhaw to begin their 'Grow your Own' project.
This was initiated as part of our Earth in Space project. The children have been looking at where supermarket food comes from and how 'food miles' can impact our carbon footprints.
The children had a brilliant time at Ballymagowan allotments. They tasted garlic stems and rhubarb straight from the plots. They also planted their owr potatoes.
Many thanks to Apex Housing Association who funded the project, to Tina Doolin who organised and costed the project and the facilitators at the allotments who were so knowledgeable.
